Prunning has been our main task the last couple of weeks in our farms. Prunning is performed in two stages. First we take away the beaten and old branches that have no blossoms. Secondly, we cut the many small branches that emerged after last year prunning and leave the strongest so they can grow and produce our future crop ( It usually takes 3 years for them to grow and enter the production stage.)

The scent of coffee blossoms have inundated the valley. Today, after 2 weeks of afternoon rainstorms, the hills around San Marcos de Tarrazu have been covered by the ¨Tarrazu snow¨. A white blanket, consisting on millions of coffee flowers, have covered the Caturra coffee trees of our Don Evelio Estate. God bless the rain, our land, and our 2004 coffee harvest.
