My cousin Rodolfo, the Tarrazu Mayor, is full of good intentions. He cannot imagine how difficult is to organized the Costa Rica coffee Farmers in the Valley to form a coalition against counterfeit Tarrazu coffee. Theactions described in this article are not the first attempts to control crooks in the coffee trade from profiting with our appellation. Mr. Calvo is right when saying other countries sell so called Costa Rican gourmet coffee from Tarrazu to unsuspected Specialty coffee houses and roasteries worldwide. At least the problem is being addressed at City Hall, good start.
